"How lovely to think that no one need to wait a moment...we can start now, start slowly, changing the world. How lovely that everyone...great and small, can make a contribution toward introducing justice straightaway. And you can always always give something, even if its only kindness." -Anne Frank

7 Months Home!!

Seven months ago I was in Ethiopia getting to know my new daughter for the first time. I balked when someone told me that adoption was hard....HOW was it hard? Isn't it easy to love a cute little orphan girl?? Seven months later I now understand the meaning behind the words...."adoption is hard but it is worth it". It hasn't all been easy. But let me tell you...for any struggle we have went through I would do it all again in a heartbeat...Someone once said to the Mothers of adopted children that are in the trenches fighting for love...to KEEP fighting because love comes....it does! This is my testimony that love does come!

MOTHERHOOD~ is a choice you make everyday to put someone else's happiness and well being ahead of your own. To teach the hard lessons and do the right thing even if your not sure what the right thing is...and to forgive yourself over and over again for doing everything wrong. -Donna Bell

Faces of Ethiopia

I am always excited to get new pictures of my friends in Ethiopia. This picture is beyond sweet. This is Abraham Bezebah and his little girl Bilen. He is good friends with Tesfaye. Him and his wife own Lafto Guest House...in Lafto.
The young man above is Ephriam. He is the youth pastor at Korah Mesgihanna Church. Every Saturday he teaches 400 children...So thankful that the Mother of these sweet girls is letting them come now. I had the pleasure of eating lunch with him one day when I went to Embassy. He has such a heart for the children.
...sweet.
Yonatan sent me a new picture also! He is the guest house manager at Addis Flower Guest House where we stayed. He started a touring business called Radiant tours. Can't wait for a Radiant tour of Wolaita. This picture was taken in Lalibella...looks like a neat place!

Sweet Helen

I don't think I have ever mentioned Helen before on my blog. Helen is Tesfaye's girlfriend. She has been working in Kuwait as a maid. A couple weeks ago Tesfaye asked for prayer for Helen because she was being abused. Oh break my heart. This sweet girl has a sad history. By the grace of God she is ok.
Because the abuse was so bad they let her off her two year commitment. She arrived in Addis yesterday. Oh thank you Lord!
Her message to me was, "Thank you Kristy for all your prayers! I am free...praise Jesus."
Look at her beautiful smiling face. Her smile brings tears to my eyes. I simply cannot wait to meet this sweet girl. And I am guessing there will be a wedding soon ;) Britton and I are looking forward to working with this sweet couple. We feel so blessed to have them in our lives.
*Thank you Jesus for bringing Helen back to her country. Please be with her in her decisions that she is going to be making soon. Thank you for leading us to this couple. We love you Lord.

Update on Rukia

Tesfaye messaged me this morning asking for prayer for Rukia as she went into surgery to remove her leg. Very sad. This pictures speaks a thousand words...She has a loving husband to take care of her and she has a special friend willing to help her. Tesfaye found a family to pay rent in their house for a year. I cannot wait to meet this sweet girl. So if you would pray for her today that she would recover well. What a mighty God we serve....even through hard times...He is still on His throne and He is still good.
