Carter's Preschool Christmas Program

Today was a special moment day for me. We went to Carter's preschool Christmas program.
I had a "wish I could stand up and let everyone know that the cute little fellow in the green shirt was mine" moment. He was so cute and he did such a good job! They have been practicing for a long time so we have been hearing the little songs at home.
probably wont have to many programs to go to because we are homeschooling so this one was special to me. Love my little Carter Britt.

We got the special privilege of spending a day in Indianapolis with friends! First we went to the Ethiopian restaurant...this was a highlight for me and Gracie. Not so much for Britton or the boys. When I first went to Ethiopia I disliked the injera but I think it was because my stomach was nervous and unsettled...the second time I went it was either starve or eat what they fixed Gracie so I acquired a taste for it and now I LOVE it! YUM! Gracie was also thrilled and we bought some injera to put in the freezer and have on hand.

Special friends with half of their children :) (Hi Bev)
All the kiddos after lunch.
Gracie and Camille both from CWA :)
AND Pierre!
Then we went to the Indianapolis Zoo for the rest of the day

brrrrrrrrr

Dolphin show

It was a cold evening but the lights were beautiful! We finished off our day with pizza. What a blessing to have our children home...healthy and safe :) They have many special times ahead of them.

Cookie Decorating Night

Every year some time or other we have a decorating cookies time. Its not always the men helping sometimes its just Mom and me But this year we decided to make it a family night and involve the men :) Which is only my dad and Britton...Brent was there in our hearts. After a YUMMY supper of Moms homemade pizza we got to work decorating the 100 cookies she had baked out the day before.
My Dad assured me that he has decorated cookies MANY times BUT if my memory serves me correctly this is the only time I have ever witnessed him spreading icing on a cookie. ( Mom and I made sure the ones he decorated got put in a separate container for our Christmas lol )
the little cookie thief
Desperate times call for desperate measures...after icing 20 cookies or so Dad got the grand idea of making one to send for Brent. So he piled all the colors of icing on the cookie and added ALL the colors of sprinkles we had...I am sure Brent will be impressed!
All Done! Now I get to pass them out to some neighbors and Carters teachers!
They watched a movie instead of decorating...but we still let them have a few.

Ladies Christmas Dinner

Every year at Christmas time our little fellowship has a special evening just for the Ladies. This year was SO special because I got to take my daughter :) The food is always amazing...this year was Williamsburg Turkey Soup, salad, all kinds of bread and so many desserts. The "help" put alot of work into it decorating the church and making it all look very festive.
The younger girls put on a Christmas play for us. They asked Gracie to be an angel :)
It truly is so special to have her home this Christmas! I went through TWO Christmases without her!
*My little Buzz Lightyear Angel LOL Britton made her Angel wings...we have never laughed so hard! Buzz Lightyear all the way!

Great Wolf Lodge

Our first getaway as a family of five! We decided, instead of buying our children Christmas gifts, we would take them overnight somewhere and make a memory with them. They have been looking forward to it for quite sometime. We had so much fun!

It felt like a magical kingdom inside the lodge. It was beautiful!

Bringing our luggage in...much excitement!
Our cozy room
SOOO excited to go swimming!

This was Gracie's first time to go swimming. She is very brave! She went on all the rides...screaming and laughing the whole way.
Our little Christmas supper

They have story time for the children at 8pm.

Then Wylie the Wolf comes out and reads a story and meets the children

Reading the Christmas story...stopping every few verses to child proof it :)
small little gifts from Mommy :)
...bubblebath!
story time
We had so much fun! We hope to take our family away at Christmas time from now on...new tradition. Memories are the best gift!
